Moloko-Kraina Agricultural Productive Cooperative Keeps its Promises

Despite of the difficulties that arose last year on milk procurement market due to lowering of purchase prices for prime products, provoked by lowering of product market of Ukrainian milk products, “Moloko-Kraina” timely and in the full volume performed its obligations to the members of cooperative.

During January-December 2012 the members of “Moloko-Kraina” agricultural productive cooperative received more than 1000 tons of forages at special prices. In particular, there was received 190 tons of wheat, 200 tons of grain waste products, 170 tons of corn, 140 tons of oilcakes, 300 tons of residues etc.

The Head of “Moloko-Kraina” APC V. V. Strigunov stated that the members of cooperative not only would be supplied with qualitative forages, but also would receive a number of additional advantages. Thus, during the last year more than 300 members of cooperative received interest-free loans for purchasing pedigree cattle and milking equipment from our association. Cooperative method of production organization is advantageous for everybody: cows’ owners, milk processing specialists and consumers who could not worry about milk price and quality, told Vladimir Vladimirovich.

It is pleasant that Ukrainians are actively adopting the practice of cooperative organization of work that has proved its effectiveness in different countries. In particular, the largest milk company of Denmark (it controls almost 80 % of the market) – Arla Food, was created as an agricultural cooperative in 1945. Its owners are 7178 persons in Denmark and Sweden. Also 80 % of milk market in Finland is controlled by the company VALIO (“Viola” cheese), which is also a cooperative. There are about 4 000 agricultural cooperatives in the USA.
